There is some kind of scary machine sound happening down the hall.

I like this blog. It's not someone I know, it's a stranger, and I generally hate strangers, but not this stranger.
A Liver for Larry

I only have two things on my mind today:
When can I work out?
When can I watch House, MD again?

Those are the only two things that make me happy right now. The problem is, I've got all of this other bullshit I have to do, like work, and do shows and satisfy commitments and keep up with frinedships and care about shit. and, like, shower. Fortunately I have yoga tonight (lord only knows where I am going to find the money for it) and I've got more dvds coming, eta: tomorrow.

It's hard for me but I'm trying*

It was hard, but not as hard as the first time, so I guess that's good. There was still stuff I can't quite do, and 90 minutes is a goddang long time, but I think I can hold my own. I'm going to go back tomorrow, since today I am kind of sore. Also, I am paying for a regular gym too, so I should go there today and sometimes too also.

Fun things:
My friend's dog Frankie Zappa is famous and also deadly cute.
This is a very fun website to read.
Have you seen a commercial for this? Gold.

*branches, by midlake. you like it.

getting stronger

I took my first bikram yoga class yesterday. "You may feel uncomfortable, a little dizzy or nauseous. That's ok."

One minute into class I thought, "Oh. I am actually going to actually throw up." and I felt that way for the entire 90 minute class. They keep the room 105 degrees and moist. I was sweaty from my scalp to the ends of my hair. It was gross. Also, I looked like a panda bear among a pack of gazelles, but I didn't care too much after while. It was seriously the hardest workout I've ever done. (If you know anything about ww-with my height and weight, 90 minutes was 18 AP. Remove jaw from floor. Others who don't know from ww: 18 is a fucking lot.) Afterward I felt very off-kilter, but kind of amazing. And I still feel pretty amazing. I am going to go back today to see if really was as hard as I thought it was.

On my way home I passed a homeless woman who said as i passed, "Sorry, mister." She was apologizing, you see, because she had pooped on the sidewalk in front of me. On my way to work today, i looked out the subway window and saw a woman wearing only underwear leaning out onto her balcony smoking a cigarette. My daily commute involves seeing boobs and poop. What kind of person has this city made me? I guess the consolation is, I am not the kind of person who has to poop on the sidewalk. Grateful for everything, I am, even the tough stuff.

I feel like I should do it, so I am.

I've been taking a break from socializing for the past few weeks. I'm trying to cut down my drinking/smoking/gossiping for financial and health reasons. I think it's working. I'm still Miss Naughty Mcgee, just not as often.
Also, I am in a bit of a phase and I can't quite figure it out. I feel lately like I've got nothing to talk about, or like it's just an effort to talk to people I love, which should never be the case. I guess a break was in order anyway.

I've been dreaming about my family almost constantly. I am homesick for my home friends something awful, too. Also, last night I dreamt I got a bunch of checks in the mail. Like a bunch of refunds from things I was owed all came at once. I hope that one comes true. I like moneys.

What else? I saw Die Hard yesterday. And I ate at Max Brenner! I only ate a salad and nibbled at Amy's birthday cake, but it was still pretty lovely as lovely restaurants with chocolate fountains go. Pics to come.

Not much, you?

So hello.
I haven't blogged much.

There's a kid in my reception area waiting to be interviewed, and he's wearing a "Columbia" tee shirt tucked into khaki pants. He keeps buzzing up to my desk, asking nervous question about what we do here. Unfortunately, I don't really know. He also referenced his outfit, which understand. When I fuck something up, I usually have to tell someone. I don't know why I have that urge. "Just so you know that I know." I must be annoying to perform with.
Anyway, I think it's actually a fine outfit for a job interview. I think a suit is too much. We all should have our resumes printed on tees. If I went to Columbia, I'd be wearing that tee shirt all the time and being like "hi," and just point to the shirt. I could do that now though, honestly. Any school I dream of.

I went out and had a hell of a time on Friday, which is the kind of time i like to have. And then went out and had a nice, laid back time on Saturday. I took no pictures. I watched The Prince of Darkness on Sunday. That movie is still so good. So 80s and kind of corny, but awesome. Liquid Satan? Dream transmissions? Hello? Best movie ever calling?

This is why I don't blog when I don't have much going on. Peepoop.

Let me know if you had trouble with any of those songs or if you liked them or whatever. Also I will take requests. Also here is a tree root that looks like two people doing it:

8 random, yet interesting things about me? It's tough. It's not so much that I am an open book as I'm not nearly as interesting as my friends are. I will give it a shot.

8. I once met Mickey Dolenz of "The Monkees" fame. It was at a car and boat show. I also met Mirina Sirtis from Star Trek TNG at a Star Trek convention. I didn't really like Star Trek that much, but the conventions are kind of fun. She was so nice. I have met Dave Foley I think three times. Creepy of me? Maybes. I've met all of the kids in the hall except Kevin. Mark was the chattiest. I saw Todd Barry at the concert yesterday.

7. One of my eyeballs was removed from my head for a short time. I had surgery on a lazy eye when I was four. I cried blood.

6. I was a cheerleader. Looking at me, it's hard to believe but yes: From 6th grade to 8th, I lead people to cheer. Ish. I wasn't too good.

5. The color of this blog is my favorite color. Favorite colors are interesting. Right?

4. I own a djembe drum and an ukelele. I play neither, which makes me kind of a jerk. I own that.

3. I like pictures of dilapidated barns and hiking. also hard to tell by looking at me, but I am somewhat outdoorsy.

Ok seriously, it's taken me 24 hours to write this many. Someone else can write the last two.
mass romantic fool

I walked all over central park and parts of Brooklyn on Tuesday.
I saw The New Pornographers yesterday.

And a bunch of fireworks, and the inside of a cab. Got soaked during the show and stayed wet pretty much all day. All in all, a perfect day.
Kind of a bad time to have let someone borrow my camera, because it has been g-dang picturesque, but awesome.

Midlake opened for The New Pornographers. I like! My friend let me borrow Panda Bear, Person Pitch. Life changing? Maybe.
