the overused 'yay'
I was at the beer garden on Saturday afternoon for this guy's bday. At one point, a couple of people at the end of our picnic table started randomly applauding something, so we started clapping, too. Why not? Everyone likes to be hilarious. Then the other two tables that were part of the same party started clapping. Within about 30 seconds, the entire beer garden was in full-on, riotous applause. We stood up, and then other tables stood up. A random, pointless standing ovation. It lasted about two full minutes. It was one of those, weird, wonderful, I'm-glad-to-be-human moments.
I'm gonna chase that feeling.

I want to do it like Stephanie does it.
Thursday was a long, amazing day. I had work and went to the gym. (no pictures of that, you're welcome.) I had fancy dinners with Mo.
She just signed with Howard Stern's agent. Now she is too famous to hang out with me. She has to do business all the time.

Then WeirDass:

So amazing. I'd give anything to be as solid and fast and commited as these two. Stephanie Weir is my new hero.
She played a girlfriend named "Honey", who was so shy, I totally saw my high school self. It was weird and I related immediately. So true and so funny.
And then we had to kill time before NTB. I did not drink. Amazing!

It was Kill Secretary Kill's last New Team Battle (until I coming running back) last thursday. This was a group of dudes from chicago (friends of matt), and this was as mellow as they got. I loved their energy. I don't like when people say "east coast vs. chicago style" but it really is a different energy. It would pretty much have to be.

It was such a great night. So grateful!
the backstage b-room at the pit.

I heart that.
Last night I played the sleeping game where you go home and go to bed until the next day. Guess what? I won!

The Worst Romantic Comedy Plot in History
I'm working on a different floor for the next two weeks, and down hrere they provide not just bagels and coffee in the morning, but also doughnuts, muffins and fruit.
For the past week, I have been splitting the lone raisin bran muffin with a mysterious stranger. Sometimes I come in and there is half a muffin, so I take it. If I come in and it is whole, I will cut it in half and eat half. The other half will be gone by the end of the day.
Today, extra hungry, I ate 3/4 of the muffin. I hope he doesn't think there is someone else, That would be a Heartbreaking and Hilarious Misunderstanding that we Clear Up While Standing in the Rain.

Come on a my house, my house
Last saturday goings on.
I should mentino, more than one decorative item (grass door hangings, lantern string lights) have made their way into our regular decor. (see also: empty beer bottles.)
Some this

and that

and karaoke

and a puppy.

Thanks to Matt and Ryan, I have begun associating having a party at your house with wearing a cowboy hat. I'm sure I'm sorry.

here's hoping
I'm working out of a another office while their secretary is in Croatia. It's quieter here than it is in my office. It feels weird. I can screw around on the computer though. So that's good. Croatia, right? I know.
Oh, also I have eaten my weight in crap food today. So that's good, too. My weightloss has been at a standstill for the past two weeks. I hope eating half of a piece of everything in the world will jumpstart it again. Fingers crossed!
I am tired. I do too much, yet somehow I remain bored.
an ode to the shoes I bought for my sister's wedding last summer:
Oh beaded shoes! you outlived summer of 05, and you out-lived the old navy slip ons of '06! You are two, black satin, spangled symbols of perserverance against the bacteria-infested shoe-metling sidewalks of New York City. Does your lining erode against the stoccato of my angry feet? Yes, kind of. But these feet can never erode your sole. Well, yes, they probably could. And I will probably keep wearing you until they do.

This is my new favorite song of all time. Sorry "Girlfriend" by Matthew Sweet. You'll always be in my heart, at number 2.
Reading: Monster Island-David Wellington. A light, summer read about zombies taking over manhattan. Pretty awesome so far.
On iPod: eh. nuthin.
Snack:

Also- a grilled chicken sandwich from Sophie's courtesy of one of our clients.
Hair Product: none but shampoos and what the good lord give me.
Magazine: Somebody left Allure and Rue Morgue in the pottyroom at home. I page through them from time to time. That Kate Beckinsale is awfully pretty.
Last Night’s Dinner: subway veggie delizzzzzzzz
Outstanding Netflix: Doctor Who, the most recent series. Unfortunately, I have seen almost all of them already, so I am only getting an hour's enjoyment out of each disc. (The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances is pretty fucking amazing, though. and the season one finale? >kisses fingertips<)
Next Theater Movie: I dunno. I never see movies. Maybe Lady in the water. I am really looking forward to the new Will Ferrell movie andohmygodIamTHATperson.
Dance: Eh? No.
Projects:
-Mothra and Fancy Dragon stuff
-Adam and my birthday show
-New Team Battle
-writing sketches
-coachingish
-The Project
-Oddbody
-reorganizing bedroom
-setting some goals
-making the bangs work
-self
Mood: mellow. huggy. hungry.

working it out
I went to Bliss yesterday and used the gift certificate I got for my birthday last year because a) it was about to expire and b) I think the idea of spending my last few dollars on a tip at a famous, fancy spa is deliciously ludicrous. I am down to 32 cents until payday, but I am very zen about it. I am really sore right now. I hope that's normal. I built up to it so much. It took me a year to use it; I'm not sure what I was expecting. I spent half of it thinking about weird stuff and fussing, and the other half worrying and fussing that I should have been thinking about something important or nothing at all. I was worried I'd cry. I've heard of people crying during back adjustments and massages and yoga. I haven't cried in months and I'm kind of due. (I might also be a robot.) Dry as a bone, though. Left to my own devices I will think of funny things until I have a gigglefit, because I am a crazy person. Some of it really, really hurt. I guess I keep all of my pain and loss in my lower back, my tailbone, and left upper thigh. I am very protective of it, as well. I was like, um, get off it, lady. Basically, I was very tense, then I kind of wasn't. I could use another one. The facilities are nice. They had brownies. I wish I was there with someone. Blissfully.
I saw pirates of the carribean 2. I've never gone on the ride, though, so I was completely lost.

July birthday Photo posto! part I!
Leigh's birthday at the Boat Basin, where the company was stellar

The restaurant was gorgeous and dog-friendly

and the service was atrocious!

Matt's birthday was on saturday. There was karaoke and drinking and I did not take enough pictures. Matt made a cocktail using jalapeno-infused tequila and cucumber juice, which sounds insane at tastes delicious. I can't stop talking about it. Drinking cucumbers is genius.

Lady sings the meows

Next saturday: party people in the house. (Our apartment.)

a kitty without a lap
The phrase "munch on veggies" makes me want to murder something. I get angry if I even hear someone start to say it. Also, when people casually call women "bitches", regardless of the context. It's like nails on a chalkboard.
Last night I rehearsed with Matt and then Mo and I had our late show. I trucked out as fast as I could and still didn't make it home until 1:30am. Long dam days. Groan.
The dudes I was going to coach tonight cancelled. It's sad because I wanted to do it but also I am so tired that I feel kind of drugged and this outfit is like I so need to do laundry it's upsettingso maybe it is a good thing in the end because I am not at my bestest right now. I do not go see Kevin's band play tonight. Unless I find a hidden store of energy in my hips (a joke for the actors out there!) and a hidden stash of 8 dollars somewhere . . . well, wah. I want to. Also, not so much with the coherence today. I shouldn't even be blogging.
I go to sleeps now, yes?
Oh, nono. It is only 3:10. You go to sleeps when you get on the W train, baby.
No, I go to sleeps now, I just keep the eyes opened. Maybe say "have a good weekend" intermittently, to cover the bases.
Rest you, child.
I am talking to myself. It's a nap emergency.
*I am aware of how annoying it must be for the new parents who might happen upon this to read abou thow tired I am. sorries.

It's an 11-year-old!
Yesterday, the adoption went through, and somebody handed out bubblegum cigars that said "it's a girl!" Too cute. Makes me a little lonesome for home. Mik and I spent a lot of quality time together when we were younger.
After my show we had a meeting for the new sketch group, and that went well. Then some of us stayed out for while and drank screwdrivers for no reason, and a girl I had just met felt me up. Shrug.
I don't know why people do that. I am not your pseudo-lesbian puppet.
My Kevin at a movie premiere! (you have to scroll down past fran drescher, but he's there!)

I bit the inside of my cheek.
I threw out most of the innards of my gyro. Turns out I don't like gyro, I'm just a big fan of warm pita. (Yes, I am working out later.)
Last night during the show I chugged a big can of beer and made prank phone calls. I laughed much harder at this than the audience did. Can you believe I'm not getting paid for this?
I am going on haitus from alcohol for a while. It's not that I'm compelled to drink all the time, I just tend to find myself in drinking situations more than is healthy. Also, I find myself writing about it on here a lot. I will start, you know, sunday or whatever.
I bought a bunch of clothes last night. I am currently wearing the prettiest brown hooded sweatshirt ever made and a white tee that I think might be maternity wear. I love you, credit card.
A dude just brought me a teeshirt from vegas, because I held a package for him. He seemed really nervous about giving it to me. People are nice.
Today is the day of the month when i want to eat everything in the world.
Blerblerbler.
Nothing's new.

I missed the show, but the postcard was hilarious
I need to eat some dinner sometimes, like, when I am going to be drinking alcohol. Sometimes and a lot! I get so sloppy/goofy. But I need something to do with my hands, so . . . you know.
Mo and I read from Kill Secretary Kill last night. It was scary and fun and weird and awkward and I think it worked. Then I had a really bad fancy dragon show. Then I went out and got to talk to people I like but don't get to talk to all that often and got tipsy on three drinks. Schweet.

Too many and not enough
I took way too many pictures this weekend and also not enough.
The computer at home is kind of broken, so I may not get many more up, but please check out this for the most.

Sorry, garvey.
Garvey just mentioned to me that I tend to keep it brief. Snarf!
I have no idea why I put all of this in the present tense. I am sleepy.
a quick overview of my weekend, sans 1/2 the pics. (still uploading.)
thursday:
drive to Providence. Sit int he back with Mo and Jeff. Get car crazy almost immediately. They say "super duper wienie" over 100 times, and it is funny every single time. Mo and I invent a secret handshake. We drops Leigh's dogg off at cindee's parents' house in CT. It takes forever to get to Providence. The music is good.
[pics to follow]
We get there, unload, run to the theater, perform. It is great. We hang out and watch the other shows. Mo and Jeff perform. It breaks my heart with joy. We eat and drink. Seems like not a lot of other groups have arrived yet, as we have the place to ourselves. Jeff runs by the speed meter and breaks 14 mph, while relatively drunk. We play Katamari for a few minutes before everybody crashes.
Friday:
Walk all over with chickens and Jeff. Look for the free coffee place. Drink coffee for an hour. Walk back. Lie around the hotel while Jeff reads to us form the internet. Then the girls shower up and go for a long walk. We find the cutest restaurant in the world and spend too much money. I get the prettiest dessert ever.
We get back to the hotel and bump into other arriving new yorkers. Go to our show. Perform. It's pretty great all around, but I have a baddish show. Not close to what I think I should be doing, but I do alright. We watch our friends' show and go drinking. Several more people join the game of seeing how fast they can run past the speed meter thingy. My friend Nate breaks his hand.
Matt and I see ouselves in a documentary about improv. It's relatively neato.
There is a lot of drinking.

Saturday, early sunday
Meet up with other people from new york. Look for a diner. It takes 45 minutes, we realize the place they went to last year burned down. We have to wait until noon to get food. We're antsy and hungry. We end up at a mexican place and I have chicken tacos for breakfast.

Jeff, Mo and I watch Lost and Found videos. It's crazy. Their signifigant others show up and we get dinner at the same place as before. It's delicious. Everyone is adorable. I go see my friends perform again, why I saw them twice I do not know. Oh well. We also go to see Providence's Waterfire, which is also neato.

Then, I bring the pain upon myself by going to a midnight show, then going back to the hotel, failing to sleep for three hours, then getting on a shuttle to the airport at 5am. Yowch. My flight on Sunday is as awful as I thought it would be.

starbucks saves my life.
Sunday:
Hung out with family.

It was nice. Slept at Rachels. Slept HARD.
monday
went to party city to look for a goatee for adam.

We don't find one. hang out with fam again.
Mo and Stan get engaged. (Gay.)
Go to founding fathers.
